"Avatar" star SAM Worthington punched a creative person WHO kicked Sam's girlfriend ... in keeping with NYPD ... and each men were busted for the incident.
Cops say Worthington
and his gf Lara base hit were walking out of a bar in residential district once the photographer went all histrion on base hit for a few reason ... and that is once Worthington jumped to her defense and punched the guy within the face.
Sam was charged with assault, released ... and given a price ticket to look in court at a later date.
The pap, Li Shang, was in remission and reserved for reckless endangerment, assault and harassment. he's still in custody.
